"Keep your hands up, or you will get your bell rung again."
Becca laughed softly as she took Rheagals
fist into her own and shoved her forearm against his. "Strong. Don't let
me push you back. Strong, like wood. Got it? Keep your hands up." She
ruffled his hair and took a few steps back from her eldest son.
"Now...attack."
Rheagal was learning how to spar with his
siblings, and trying to show off, made a mistake and rushed his mother again.
She simply side stepped him and swatted the back of his head gently with her
palm.
"You charged, Never charge, unless you
want to lose your head. Again."
Rheagal rolled his shoulders and took up
another stance. Eyeing his mother as she moved around him like a shark. He had
displayed an interest in joining the Rivendell guard, so he asked to be trained
to fight...and after careful consideration and a brief talk with Lucius, they
had agreed. She had been an assassin at one point and it was decided she was
the best to teach physical defense. Lucius could teach him about the magical
defense. His siblings watched because they were being taught too.
"Watch me, Rheagal." She said
softly as she moved around him, moving her fists as well. "See how my body
moves. I will tell you what I will do if you just watch. I am going
left..." She moved and swatted out at him with her right hand instead and
he yelped.
"That isn't far!" He growled.
"You said left!"
"But my eyes, and my body said right.
Learn to watch my son. You are getting better. Again..."
This time, when she feigned right and
instead went left, he stopped her, smiling victoriously up at her.
"Good."
