 //Random post...

She knew where she was, and yet not. This was a place she had been to many times before. Always the same dream, ever since she was 13, and yet, this night, it had changed. Slightly, but it had changed.

She still walked the same hallways, could describe in great detail from every suit of armor that stood guard, to every tapestry and which stories it told upon them. She let her eyes wander the darkened hallway, to rest on each candelabra, each stone carving as she slowly passed by. The eyes of the gargoyles and Dragons carved in stone seemed to watch her as she passed by. Each doorway lightened and then darkened as she passed. Each whispering to her of their secrets that they held inside. But it was not to them she was destined to go, but to the main door at the end of the hall. A massive, oaken and lead riveted monstrosity that held the Great Hall within. Where she ended up every time she dreamed this dream. Following an unknown voice whispering upon the winds to her with each step she took.

The voice was soft, and spoken sweetly, almost like a lover would. But she had no lovers. At times, the voice sounded almost as if in another language, she couldn't understand it. But she knew what it said, "Come to me, I await you."  This dream of hers happened every so often, since she was 13 and every time, she ended in the Great Hall. Tonight it was no different, save one thing.

She entered the Great Hall and the fires were burning in their gigantic fireplaces, so the room was nice and warm. The table was set for two, with so many succulent foods that it made her mouth water. The smells permeated her mind and caused her to shiver inside. HE was close. Only, she didn't know who HE was. She had never seen HIM. only HIS voice, which called out to her every few months in dreams. Dreams that never changed, except tonight. Tonight as she glanced about the room, wondering who had summoned her here, she saw HIM. HE stood just behind her, outlined in shadow so only his outline shown. Something about him made her heart leap in her chest, made it pound as she stared at the shadowed figure before her. She turned away quickly, least she be caught staring and turned back to the table, to the fire but she could feel him move to stand just behind her. Slowly, ever so slowly, a white gloved hand came from behind her, across her left shoulder to gently caress her face, turning her face slowly towards him and she heard his words, still the same, but ever so different, echoed around them as she closed her eyes as passion flooded her at his soft, gentle whisper*

"I have crossed oceans of time to find you. Come to me. I await you!"

*And just as she is about to open her eyes, to glance once upon his face, the dream fades as she shoots up from sleep, rubbing her eyes. But the words still echo in her ears. "Come to me. I await you!"*

 // My dreams last night were weird and a little scary (to me). So I thought it best to type them out. Purge myself of them as it were. No mean comments or harsh criticism please. This is only what I remember from my dreams last night...most of it anyway. I will be writing it in a "RP Format" so as to make writing it easier. Things I keep locked up tightly inside me will be written out and some details in here, REALLY did happen to me in RL....do not judge.

*She was lost, she had lost the convoy hours ago and was left to wander in the barren wasteland that was this god awful desert! How long did she wander? How long did the burning thirst plague her body? How long did the suns rays fry her mind, causing all manner of delusions? She wasn't where she was supposed to be. She was far away from the place she was supposed to be going to with her Team. Wasn't she?  The sun was so hot....and she was so thirsty. She had forgotten the battle she had left behind. The sounds explosions made when they hit armored humvees. The sounds the dying made as they cried out for home and mothers! The blood that now stained her hands and uniform, as the one she loved above all else died in her arms. Far away....she stumbled, over a rock and fell, face first into the sand, being to weak and to tired and heartsick to continue. But she made herself crawl the rest of the way up the sanddune, made herself move just that much further. Until she reached the top, and then sheer exhaustion overcame her and she collapsed once more. The last thing she saw, was a figure, astride a horse, in the haze of the deserts mist, coming towards her. No...she thought...not a horse...an ELK! Then everything went black. No more pain, no more thirst. but in the blackness nothing was peaceful as it should be. ghosts lingered.

Next thing she remembers is water! Water being splashed gently on her face and poured over her lips. She suddenly remembered her thirst and opened her eyes, grabbing onto and latching tightly to the hand that fed her water! She snarled softly, almost as an animal would as the hand tried to pull back, not hearing the softly whispered words of "Careful. Easy." as she drank..no gulped the water down, till she made herself cough. Only then, while trying to catch her breath, did she release the hand that held the waterbag and gaze up to see her rescuer. Ice blue eyes met her emerald green ones and for a moment, she was thoroughly confused. He wasn't real...she knew that, but yet, here he was. Sitting before her, with a look of genuine concern upon his features. What was an elf doing in Iraq of all places? That was where she was wasn't it? It was where she had been...wandering lost in memories she avoided like the plague! But no, they were in a forest now. How had that happened?! She whispered words of thanks...before that to...faded out...replaced by an entirely different scene.

Battle! But this time not in the Desert where she started. But in another forest, darker then the one she had been in earlier. She knew she was dreaming,but she  wasn't sure how to waken from it. Some small part of her mind knew this was only a dream...for her dreams at times could be horrible and frightening if the flashbacks from war returned. But this battle was different, instead of guns and rifles, she had swords in her hands and a bow upon her back. She had blood once more upon her hands as she gazed around. Elves and an unknown species lay about the forest. Dead, dying, once more she heard the screams, heard the clanging of sword upon sword. She was running, running towards the battle this time but just before she came upon the remnant of it, she stopped cold. Laying, just off to her left, arrows piercing its hide, lay the Elk. She would never forget that Elk. It had been the one HE had been riding. Her gaze flitted about till she found him, fighting off the unknowns (for in this dream they looked like black masses, no forms). She and a few other elves made their way towards him and their small group fought off the masses, fighting almost back to back. One by one though, their small band was cut down, till it was only she had HIM left. It looked like they might win, as they only had two opponents each, but such was not to be. A sword went through HIM and dropped him so easily. Once he was down, everything stopped. Her sole focus went to HIM to try and stop his bleeding, her tears wet HIS face as she cried, HE simply smiled at her, raised his hand to her cheek and told her he loved her before he died....her screams went unanswered....

as once more she found herself back in that Desert. Her body slowly shutting down, laying upon the hot burning sand where HE had found her. Slowly, her movements stilled...she didn't hear not see the vultures that drew near. Everything had gone black once more.

She sat upright in bed with a cry, not caring that tears rent her face. not caring that she was lightheaded and shaky. She simply grabbed her pillow, hugged it close and cried soundlessly. IT had only been a dream...within a dream....
